Engineering conference registration open - 7th bi-annual European Systems Engineering Conference.

During May, 23-26 2010, the European Countries of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) will organise the 7th bi-annual European Systems Engineering Conference (EuSEC 2010) in Stockholm, Sweden. The theme for EuSEC 2010 is "Systems Engineering and Innovation", addressing the expanding scope of Systems Engineering application and responsibility in all kind of industries. Examples of this expanding scope are addressed in the strength of Systems Engineering in its traditional home of aerospace and defence, and in its growing application in complex consumer and industrial systems, transportation, medical care and water management.

INCOSE UK Wins President’s Award for Best International Chapter

At this year’s INCOSE International Symposium we were once again awarded the INCOSE President’s award for the Best International Chapter. Part of the reason for our success is the very high standard of technical activity undertaken by individual members and UK based working groups.

Our Chapter was also awarded the President's Award for outstanding Achievement as an INCOSE Chapter at the same event.

DoDAF and MODAF Modelling to Unite.

A new industry standards group, the UPDM Group, has been established to build on previous efforts within the Object Management Group (OMG) to develop a modeling standard that supports both the US Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and the UK’s Ministry of Defence Architecture Framework (MODAF). The modeling standard is called the Unified Profile for DoDAF and MODAF (UPDM). The group’s mission statement is the following: “The UPDM Group is committed to creating a unified profile for MODAF and DoDAF, leveraging the capabilities of UML, SysML and other OMG standards.”
